One Proud Fiance

We have had quite a busy weekend! Yesterday (May 21, 2011), Trevor commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the United States Marine Corps. I've been pretty emotional about the whole event and ceremony for several weeks leading up to it. Though Trevor and I are about to embark on God's calling for us to be man and wife later this week, Trevor's commissioning is also a big start to our life together. We are now going from the Enlisted side of the Marine Corps to the Commissioned side of the Marine Corps. (I say "we", but I also must say that Trevor enlisted two years before we even started dating let alone began to think about marriage). Anyways, this new side of the USMC can be very different. We are both very excited for the journey together and know that God has so much in store for us! We now begin to watch the clock tick as we wait for December and TBS. Then it will be off to flight school where we will pray and prepare for Trevor to fly F18s. I can't wait for the journey, but I was still emotional for the ceremony. I am so proud of everything he has done and accomplished! I can't wait for him to live out what God has called him to do. This journey will not be easy, but quite simply, with the Lord on our side we have absolutely nothing to fear! Here are some pictures from the big day! Some are professional and some are my own! :)

I just love this picture! I am so proud of this man and cannot wait to be his wife!!
This is Trevor's Dad and Step-Mom! I love the picture because you get a lot of the flag as well as the F18. :)

Here are some pictures from the actual ceremony:

A group of Trevor's Co-Workers from MALS-41 who came to attend the ceremony! Trevor and I both really appreciated that they came!

Reading off the commission...it was difficult to hear.

Definitely didn't hear any of this.

Trevor's bars being pinned on by his Dad and Mom.

Right before Trevor's first salute from Cpl. Luke Hatton.

Unfortunately, I didn't get the salute, but I really like this picture with Trevor giving Luke his silver dollar.

Following the ceremony (P.S. He is so handsome!)

Trevor saying a few thank you's....I was getting a little frustrated because I thought he was going to leave me out....hehe-my silly emotions! I know Trevor so much better than that!

He surprised me with flowers. (The tears are filling my eyes and chin is beginning to quiver in this one!)

Oh just full on tears! He does so much and yet he continues to thank me, bless me, and love me! He truly is an amazing example of Jesus' unconditional love for us! We aren't perfect, but I really love that Treor shows his unconditional love for me on a daily basis!

Trevor, I cannot begin to explain how much you mean to me! You have pushed me to succeed, stretched me beyond my comfort zone, built up my self-confidence, loved me unconditionally, forgiven me an innumerous amount of times, given in to my smile, made me your priority, and showed me what it means to love someone with all your heart and being. I am so proud of you for everything you have done. I was so proud to watch your bars being pinned on yesterday, and I was honored to stand beside you as your future wife. Know that I will do my best to always support your decisions, love you unconditionally, forgive your wrongs, encourage you when times get tough, and stand by your side through the storm. I love you!

Getting Excited!

I was going to say we only have 12 days left, but it's 1 a.m. and we have ELEVEN days left until the wedding! I am getting so excited! I was kind of over it and ready for it to be here...I still am ready for it to be here, but I am excited about everything that is going on and everything Trevor and I are planning for the big day. Tonight we made several last minute big decisions and I cannot wait to play them out! : ) Of course, the actual decisions are not going to be shared, but we finally decided (for the final time) what we are going to do for favors! I am so excited about them! We just have to get everything ordered and ready!

A few days ago we had our second cake tasting with Candy Haven here in Denton. I have never been a fan of Candy Haven and never chosen them on my own, but I am very excited with what we have planned for the wedding and what they have presented us with. We had two tastings-one at The Milestone and one AT Candy Haven. The one at Candy Haven was so much better!! Look at this display of goodies:

We even got a few chocolate covered strawberries...they weren't as good as mine! ; )

We are just so excited for the big day and all the things that come along with it! Tonight we went on a we-are-getting-married-in-twelve-days date! It was so awesome!! And we absolutely love Abuelo's! I'm so excited to marry this man:
He is always so patient with me when I am upset, overly joyed, or moody about something!! He's even sat in silence for over an hour just to let me have my time. He is absolutely amazing and I cannot wait to marry him!
We were completely suprised this week with an amazing gift from Trevor's Dad's Boss-our knife set!!! We were so shocked and overwhelmed with gratitude! Thank you so much, Vish (even though he will never read this because I've never even met the man)!!!
Please ignore my extremely red face and my sunken in eyes...I look like a burnt skelleton!! Haha!

NEED. NEW. SHOES. NOW!

So...I'm done with school. I have to take a finished test upto UNT at 8 a.m. tomorrow (why am I still up?!) and then I am completely done. I'm officially a senior in college and will make the Dean's List again!

Why am I so sad though? Today has been so rough on me..I'm not really sure why! Have you ever felt like you sat back and watched your life change? Like not change for the better  ...but maybe for the better. Have you ever sat back and seen something huge change your life forever. Now, what if you didn't sit back and watch it change your life?! What if you got up and did something about it?! Would it make matters worse?! Or just a little more difficult for awhile?! I honestly don't know. Tomorrow I'll probably read this and think I'm nuts! However, right now it makes complete sense. I'm sitting back and watching my life change drastically...I can't really do anything about it unless I plan to make matters worse. So there is Option A-keep things the same and my life changes forever, Option B-change what is happening but make life worse, or Option C-change everything and lose everything.

What if you just got up, put on some new shoes, and walked with the change?! What would happen then? I honestly have no idea...it's really all a matter of figuring out God's plan for me, but no matter what-it's okay to have a new pair of shoes to walk in...

I'm thinking:

OR

OR
: ) Sometimes shoes just make you feel better about life! Haha!

These are a Few of my Favorite Things...Mother's Day

I'm pretty sad this Mother's Day because my mom is at a conference in Nashville, TN and we don't get to spend the day together. My mom has been the most amazing mother anyone could ever ask for. Seriously! She has stood by me no matter what. She's laughed with me, cried with me, wiped away many many tears, supported me, prayed for me, spent too much money on me, and loved me. She has been an inspiration to me for the last twenty one years and there is no better role model I could have!

It scares me to imagine what life would be like without her! (Gosh and now I'm tearing up! SEE!) I can hardly imagine moving across the country, but I know that she will continue to love me, support me, and pray for me no matter where I am! I also know she'll come to visit OFTEN (okay, Mom?!)! Anyways, she is the most amazing mom in the entire world, and I cannot thank the Lord enough for her!

So especially today, the very first thing on my favorites list has to be my beautiful Mommy!!! I love you so much!!!
Gosh, she is so pretty!!

Thinking about it, I'm interested to see if we have a lot of similar characteristics! Haha! Here is a picture of my mom (pretty close to my age I think):
Similarities?! Possibly!

Matching pairs! I just love this woman so very much! I also love that her fashion has improved since the 90s! :P

Anyways, I love you so much, Mom! Happy Mother's Day! I cannot wait for you to get home so we can have a wonderful Mommy/Daughter Date!
Mom and I will be having a wonderful date at one of our very favorite restaurants: The Grand Lux!!

Yum! The food at The Lux is so incredible!! I can't wait for dinner and shopping!!

The Beginnings of Our New House!!!

Guess what!!!! We have the keys to our new house!!! Wow! It was so cool when they handed us the keys! Of course, we have A LOT to do before we actually move in, but we are beginning the process! Look how excited we are:
I've been debating back and forth on if I would post pictures before we got all of our stuff in there or not. I've decided, that since my mom is out of town and I can't show her the pictures, I AM going to post the pictures because she can get on and see them! :) So here goes!

That black thing doesn't actually belong there! Like I said, there is still a lot of renovation going on within the house! Anyways...this is the outside of the house!

From the front door, you walk into the living room and dining area. This is kind of a strange picture so here's another picture from the other direction:

One of our projects for this summer will be refinishing a beautiful oak table from my parents as well as chairs from Grandma and Papaw Sewell! :)

Again...living area...this place is difficult to take pictures of!

Like I said...taking pictures of this place is difficult. This is one view of the kitchen...

Breakfast Nook Area!
Well this is just a terrible picture, but it is part of the master bedroom! I'm quite concerned about the closet space, but I'm creative! :) I'll figure it out!
Part of the bathroom which is currently in renovation! These are the new sinks! There was only one before so we are very greatful for this renovation project!!!

And everyone knows it is almost impossible to get pictures of the smaller bedrooms...so here is the bed! Haha! This is where guests will sleep, our office area will be, AND where Megan will be when she moves in with me when Trevor leaves for TBS.

And the very spacious backyard with the absolutely PRECIOUS wooden swing!! I can't wait to have the boys come over and play!! Trevor's already imagining a patio area and grill! :)

We cannot wait to begin our journey together as well as set up our new home! It has been so much fun preparing for this time and we are looking forward to moving into the house in a few short weeks!!
