These are a Few of my Favorite Things...

Welp. I'm a day late and a dollar short. I don't have a whole lot of favorites for this week, but I do have an addition to my weekly favorite things! Starting next week, I will be adding The Crazy Things That Trevor Says to the weekly favorites! :)

My favorite thing of the week is Twisted Root!!! Yum!! I am VERY picky with burgers and most of the time I get turkey burgers. Trevor and I visted their Keller location last week and it was the best turkey burger I have ever had! They also have great french fries! You've got to try this place! Click on the picture to go to the Twisted Root website.

Last night was my first night back to school! I was a little concerned that I would go back and it would feel like the semester was never going to end. However, last night really put this half of the semester into perspective! We are almost there! Really, some of my professors are starting to gear down for the semester. Some are preparing for the final project of the semester which makes me really happy! I'm so glad that it is going by so fast!
The good news is that I found out that I will be placed in Denton ISD for my final year of school!! Originally, I really wanted to be in Frisco ISD, but I am beyond excited to be in my home district! Denton is so wonderful and I'm excited to learn new things and meet my teachers and my students! :)

Projects

I just wanted to share my first project that I did with my silhouette machine with all of you!! The color isn't great, but I'm super excited about this!! It was a picture frame, but I made it into a breakfast tray. It's yellow and black for the moment, but I may decide to change it. : )

Today I went and had my bridal portraits done with the absolutely incredible, Jillian Zamora. For some reason, I've decided not to share where the pictures were taken just because it was amazing and I don't want to share it, but I got to sneak a peak at Jillian's camera and I cannot wait to see them all!! Everyone will have to wait 70 days to see them! : )

Spoiled to the Core!

Can I say how much I am loving this Spring Break?! I have had so much fun so far!! Monday I spent most of the day with my sweet fiance who spoiled me with my new Silhouette Machine, sushi, and cupcakes!! Tuesday my mom and I drove ALL over the metroplex!! We went from Denton to Dallas, Dallas to Mesquite to Balch Springs, Balch Springs to Plano, Plano to Frisco, and Frisco to Denton! We did some wholesale wedding shopping, jewelry shopping, regular shopping, eating MORE cupcakes, AND Mom got her ears pierced!!! Here's a pic to prove it!!
She's been promising and I have been bugging for over a year now! She finally broke down yesterday and did it! She wants to wear pretty earrings for the wedding to go with her B-E-A-UTIFUL dress!! :)

Today, mom and I had lunch with my wonderful Aunt Kelly at Mimi's Cafe! Mmmm it was delicious!! My sweet aunt has been so good to me over the years! She gives great advice and will always put a smile on your face! After lunch mom and I went to Grapevine and Highland Village to do--you guessed it--more shopping!! :) We got a few more things for the wedding and found some great new Easter clothes and spring accessories!! We came home for dinner, house hunting, and diy projects! Mom and I finished the unity candles for the wedding and they are absolutely gorgeous!! Rather than paying $50-$100 for a unity candle at a bridal boutique, I decided to add my own sparkle to our unity candle!! They are still sitting on the fireplace so I can admire them for awhile! :)

My iphone officially broke down today....I can't see a thing on my screen. I'm going to see if they will fix it tomorrow, but it looks like I may have to get a new iphone 5 rumored to be released in June. Until then, I'll probably be going back to the very first generation iphone!! Whoo! Why waste the extra money when I can get a brand new iphone in a few months!? I may have to break down and get an ipad 2 as well!!

So as the title suggests, I'm a little spoiled and loving this week for the great things that are happening! No, my iphone falling apart isn't great but I love that I got to spend a whole day with my favorite guy and two whole days with my mom!!! I even got some cute new clothes and accessories!!

What will I do tomorrow?! Let's see. Try to fix my phone so I can hold out until June or July, make a trip to Lowe's for my first project with my new Silhouette Machine, check TJ Max for one of these awesome party accessories::

These Opulent Treasures creations are AMAZING and I'm pretty sure (being the hostess that I like to be) I need these!! :) I found one at Home Goods today, but it wasn't the right color. Anyways, aren't they fun?! I'm going to see if the Denton TJ Max has any!! I'm also going to start on my next project, stamp wedding invitations, make Easter bows, clean, and finish some presents for my wonderful friend, Meleena!!

I hope everyone is having as great of a Spring Break as I am!! :)

These are a Few of my Favorite Things...

Awesome day today!! To start, Trevor and I celebrated our two years together! Two years seems short and long at the same time! I can't believe time as gone by this fast!! Now only 74 days until the wedding! : )

I also got my Silhouette machine that I've been shamelessly asking for!!! It's an anniversary/birthday present! : ) I canNOT wait to begin my list of projects!! I just have to figure out how to use it first! hehe!
After receiving my awesome gift...AND telling Trevor that his still has not arrived in the mail :( we went for our wedding details meeting! We were a little nervous going into it, but it went so well!! We both got the cakes that we wanted and we made every decision that needed to be made. Tomorrow my mom and I are going shopping to get jewelry, cake jewelry, accessories, and more!! Ahhh I can't believe how close we are!

We also did our cake tasting today with Candy Haven and decided our cake flavors. After that, we drove to Plano to do a cupcake tasting!! I know, I know--very similar!! This is what brings me to my favorite thing of the week!! Three words: Sugar Queen Cupcakes! Wow! Best cupcakes of my life! Before we tasted them, I told Trevor how much I don't like vanilla cake....I was wrong. We tried their Sugar Queen Vanilla, White Chocolate Strawberry, Chocolate, Mint Chocolate, Italian Cream, and Red Velvet. We may be seeing these cupcakes again at our wedding! Whoohoo!  My mom and I may actually go back tomorrow to try their Berry Pecan-names the official cupcake of Texas!!

Yum!! I had to run 10 miles tonight just to work off all of the cake I've had today!! Mom and I will walk it off tomorrow! We have a list of wedding things to finish before she goes back to work. Ah! Now I want to show everyone all of the projects I have in mind, but it's late so it'll have to wait for later this week. : )

I Am Called To Be A Keeper!

WARNING:: This is a long one!

Wow! I've been pondering for a while how I would begin this post. I started this blog without a direction. I figured I would use it to post pictures, talk about crafty stuff, wedding updates, and use it as a way to update our family and friends when we move. Lately my posts have been a lot more serious than I had planned. This one is also probably more serious than planned, but I feel like I have learned so much already this year and I need to share! I started going to Keepers of the Home at First Baptist in January. I love it! I was really nervous at first, because I'm not a keeper yet. Trevor and I are not married yet. I live at home with my parents. I don't have children. I'm. not. a. keeper. Wow...what a statement. Here are a few things I've learned so far that really change that statement:

  • I must keep my priorities in line with God's will for my life.
  • Sometimes it is okay to say no to people. I can't let myself become overcommitted.
  • Prayer is powerful! I'm pretty sure I could write a book about how powerful prayer truly is!
  • I can study the Bible every day, but until I move past the knowledge into the relationship, all I'm gaining is knowledge.
  • I need to go to God first and foremost.
  • I have to stop worrying about things. God is in control and there is no need to worry about what tomorrow holds.
  • I need to be a suitable helper for Trevor. I need to be his cheerleader. His confidante. His encourager. His supporter. His friend. His date. Trevor needs to be my priority.
  • I am called by God to love others. No matter what. I'm called to love everyone I come into contact with even if I don't like them, I don't agree with them, we don't have anything in common, or if they have something against me. I am called to love them no matter what.
  • My purpose in life is to glorify and honor my Jesus in everything I do so that I can be example of love to those I come into contact with on a daily basis.
  • My time is not my own. My time is really God's time. I need to manage it wisely.
  • I am called to be a keeper. I am called to practice hospitality. I'm called to encourage others. I am called to love. I'm called to be content with what I have. I am in the ministry of welcoming, loving, comforting, and encouraging.
Here is a wonderful passage that a sweet friend shared tonight:

Romans 12: 9-18
9 Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. 10 Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honor one another above yourselves. 11 Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord. 12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. 13 Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. 14 Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. 15 Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. 16 Live in harmony with one another. Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited. 17 Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everybody. 18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.

I've learned so much this year and God is doing so much in my life! Life is a wirl wind right now and we often finding ourselves wondering where time has gone. I plan to live out what I'm learning. I cannot wait to see what God is going to do next in my life!
